timpla – The largest wood module plant in Germany
The largest timber module plant in Germany covers over 20,000 square meters. Solar power is diligently produced on the roof. The 8,000 square meter photovoltaic system has the following key data:
- Nominal output: 1.1 MWp
- Annual electricity production: 903 MWh
- CO₂ avoidance in tons per year: 700
- Direct on-site consumption: around 65% (more than 500 MWh per year)
The PV system significantly reduces the need for grid electricity. Electricity that is not consumed at the plant or for charging vehicles is fed into the grid in order to increase the share of renewables here too.
Sustainability and ecological benefits
The PV system is not only a technical highlight, but also a significant step towards sustainability. By using solar energy, timpla can significantly reduce its CO₂ emissions. The fact that a large proportion of the electricity generated is consumed directly on site also means that timpla is less reliant on external power sources.
