Good climate
The climate crisis affects all areas of society, which means that working towards positive change also contributes to our vision. We focus on clean energy supply, new ways of working, investment in education, association work, and the promotion of regional engagement.
Our strength lies in the skills and passion of our employees. Fair cooperation based on strong values creates a climate in which we can work together to develop solutions for tomorrow.
We are committed to equality, diversity and equal opportunities. We create a working environment in which people can develop their full potential regardless of their cultural and social background, gender and gender identity, age, physical and mental abilities, sexual orientation and religion, and promote an inclusive corporate culture.
Health and safety in the workplace are important to us. We offer regular health checks, first aid courses, vaccinations and programs to promote healthy eating. Our occupational safety measures ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Flexible working hours and work location models, including working from home, support the work-life balance.
Our employees are represented on important committees and play an active role in shaping and making decisions. We promote the growth and development of our employees through individual personnel development plans and structured onboarding programs.
As part of our corporate volunteering strategy, we encourage and promote our employees to commit their time and/or expertise to charitable projects or social causes. Everyone can use a whole working day a year for this, e.g. for social days. We also support our employees with flexible working time models to help them reconcile their job with their private voluntary activities.
With our commitment to renewable energies, we are shaping a livable future free of toxic greenhouse gases. We are already taking responsibility today and working to build a strong society.
Our commitment to renewable energies creates numerous jobs in the green economy. These range from research and development to the installation and maintenance of systems to administrative and logistical tasks. By promoting specialists in these areas, we support the local economy and offer long-term career opportunities in a high-growth industry.
With our projects to promote renewable energies, we are strengthening energy independence and security. Local and decentralized energy generation reduces dependence on fossil fuels and imported energy. This not only contributes to national security, but also protects against price fluctuations and supply bottlenecks.
Our commitment does not end at national borders. We work with partnerships and organizations around the world to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. Together, we are committed to overcoming global challenges and creating a sustainable energy future for all.
We think globally and act locally. Many of our projects involve close cooperation with local communities. In this way, we not only promote environmental protection, but also the social and economic well-being of the regions in which we operate. We also make a valuable contribution to environmental protection directly on site through local projects to restore biodiversity.
Innovation is the key to a sustainable future. We therefore continuously invest in innovative start-ups and their new technologies and more efficient solutions for a climate-neutral future.
Since our company was founded in 1997, we have taken responsibility for people and nature. Our values guide our activities, and we are committed to acting in an ethically correct and entrepreneurially responsible manner.
We expect all our employees, business partners and suppliers to adhere to ethical standards and respect human rights. We carefully monitor our supply chain to ensure compliance with ESG criteria and promote a culture of transparency and integrity.
An anonymous feedback system and measures to protect whistleblowers ensure that compliance concerns can be raised safely.
We are constructively committed to the development of laws and guidelines that support growth and innovation in the renewable energy sector. To this end, we are involved in the following associations and initiatives:
- German Wind Energy Association (BWE)
- German Solar Industry Association (BSW)
- Leaders for Climate Action
Our investments underline our commitment to a climate-neutral future. But unfortunately, even we can’t avoid producing a few tons ofCO2, especially in the value chain. Turbine manufacturers are working flat out to produce climate-neutral wind turbines, but the materials required, such as concrete and metals, still contain “gray emissions”.
We report transparently on all greenhouse gases that are “on our account” as part of our greenhouse gas balance sheet, which we have independently audited by an auditor.
We help prevent food waste, for example by reducing losses and waste in agricultural businesses, thereby supporting the achievement of SDG 2.
With the wind and solar energy plants we have developed and operate, we are actively driving forward the energy transition toward 100% renewable energies – and thus making an important contribution to SDG 7.
The value added in connection with our projects in local communities ensures economic growth in regions that are sometimes structurally weak—in this way, we support the achievement of SDG 8.
With Saxovent’s real estate investments, we are committed to sustainable urban and neighborhood development and creating affordable housing—a positive contribution to SDG 11.
Among other things, we invest in climate-friendly construction with the smallest possible carbon footprint for buildings, primarily using wood as a sustainable building material.
As pioneers in the field of wind energy, SDG 13 is deeply rooted in our corporate DNA—our solar activities and numerous collaborations with project partners for regional climate protection are increasingly contributing to this.
We are committed to preserving and improving existing ecosystems. Our investments focus on the use of technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector. Our commitment promotes both soil conservation and biodiversity and contributes to SDG 15.
