Saxovent Renewables takes over 76 MWp agri-PV project from Orrön Energy

Further step in the expansion of the regional portfolio and Agri-PV expertise – strengthening of the project pipeline and targeted deepening of the northern strategy

Berlin, 04. August 2025Saxovent Renewables has concluded an agreement with a project development subsidiary of the listed company Orrön Energy to acquire an agrivoltaic project with a planned capacity of 76 MWp. The project is located in north-eastern Germany and is designed as an agri-PV system that combines the generation of solar power with agricultural use.

  • 76 MWp project in north-east Germany acquired from Orrön Energy – early securing of a strategically important location for agrivoltaics
  • Combination of solar power generation and agricultural use planned – sustainable land use as the key to greater acceptance in the region
  • Further step in the expansion of the regional portfolio and Agri-PV expertise – strengthening of the project pipeline and targeted deepening of the northern strategy

With this acquisition, we are securing a project with great potential in the agricultural PV segment at an early stage. This reflects our goal of being active in all key areas of renewable energies. The combination of agricultural use and energy generation in particular is a key building block for land efficiency and social acceptance of the local energy transition.”

Thorsten Freise – Managing Director Saxovent Renewables

The project fits seamlessly into the growth strategy of Saxovent Renewables, which is continuously expanding its portfolio in all key market areas, both organically and through targeted acquisitions. By joining Agri-PV, the company is also specifically promoting a concept that enables a partnership-based relationship and a meeting of equals for those involved.

With the purchase of this new Agri-PV project, Saxovent Renewables is not only expanding its own development spectrum, but also strengthening its regional presence in north-eastern Germany. In addition to its relevance to the energy industry, the project also offers opportunities for cooperation with agricultural businesses, local authorities and regional service providers – in line with Saxovent Renewables’ northern strategy, which was recently strengthened with the new site in Hanover.
